This past week Edna, Joy's grandmother, fell ill and eventually passed away. The grandest of grandmothers, Bok-bok (as she was known to her great-grandchildren) was a very spirited and sharp individual the entire time I knew her. Even at the ripe age of 98, she was always willing to have Julian or Nico over during our visits in town and sit with them on the piano bench, singing songs and playing on the keys. I have many fond memories of my relationship with Edna but perhaps my greatest recollection of her will be how much her daughter and granddaughter (my wife) loved her.
